Terms and Conditions of Participation

Lidl’s Parkside prize draw


These Terms and Conditions of Lidl Great Britain Limited, Lidl House, 14 Kingston Road, Surbiton KT5 9NU (“the Promoter”) shall apply exclusively to your participation in Lidl’s Parkside prize draw (Prize Draw) for a chance to win a home/garden make-over to the value of £10,000 (First Place Prize) or one of the 3,000 runner up prizes (Runner Up Prize), (together referred to as the Prizes).


By participating in this Prize Draw you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions. With your consent, your personal data will be disclosed to Lidl Great Britain Limited by Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74167 Neckarsulm, Germany to operate the Prize Draw.


1. Opening / Closing date & time

1.1. The Prize Draw opens on 06:00AM on 6 March 2025 and all entries must be received no later than 23:59PM on 2 April 2025 (the Closing Date).


2. Entry Criteria


2.1. This Prize Draw is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 years old and over who are registered Lidl Plus members and users of the Lidl app (Participant or you). The Lidl app can be downloaded from the "App Store" or on "Google Play".


2.2. Employees of Lidl (Lidl Employees) may enter the Prize Draw and are eligible to win one of the Prizes.


2.3. The Prize Draw is not open to (i) a Lidl Employee, (ii) an agent or (iii) a third party who is directly associated with the administration of the Prize Draw.


3. How to Participate


3.1. To enter:


3.1.1. you must purchase a minimum of one Parkside branded product from a Lidl store in Great Britain (Qualifying Purchase) between 06:00AM on 6 March 2025 and 23:59PM on 2 April 2025 inclusive (Prize Draw Period) and identify yourself as a Lidl Plus customer whilst paying at the checkout by scanning your digital Lidl Plus card at the checkout;


3.1.2. once you have completed your purchase, in accordance with clause 3.1.1 above, you will automatically receive a Prize Draw entry (Entry) on your device via the Lidl app which will appear on your Lidl app home screen; and


3.1.3. you must click on the Entry and submit the Entry on the Lidl app between 06:00AM on 6 March 2025 and 23:59PM on 2 April 2025 inclusive (Entry Submission Period) - once you submit your Entry you will be entered into the Prize Draw. By submitting one Entry, all Entries eligible to be submitted at that time will also be submitted.


Please note that the receipt of an Entry will not automatically enter you into the Prize Draw, the Entry must be submitted in accordance with clause 3(a)(iii) above.


3.2. A submitted Entry gives one entry into the Prize Draw. Multiple entries into the Prize Draw are permitted. You will be deemed to have entered the Prize Draw each time an Entry is successfully submitted.


3.3. There are 3,001 Prizes to be won. A Participant can enter the Prize Draw multiple times but is only eligible to win one Prize in the Prize Draw. A Participant will win the first prize for which they are drawn and any subsequent entries will be removed from the prize draw pool. Syndicated entries or those made using methods such as a computer macro, a script or the use Entries on another individual’s behalf will not be accepted. Any other forms of entry, including but not limited to automated devices or processes, are not allowed and all such entries will be disqualified and any prize awarded will be void. No entries from consumer groups, 3rd parties or bulk entries will be accepted.


3.4. The Prize Draw shall appear in the home screen on your Lidl app during the Prize Draw Period. You must follow the entry instructions as given on the Lidl App which shall also form part of these terms and conditions.


3.5. Entries cannot be added to the Lidl app retrospectively, you must follow the process in clause 3.1 above to enter.


3.6. All entries must be received during the Prize Draw Period. Any entries received after this time will be automatically disqualified and will not be entered into the Prize Draw.


4. The Prize Draw


4.1. There will be 3,001 Winners (each a Winner, together the Winners). Winners of the First Place Prize and Runner Up Prizes will be chosen automatically in the order set out in clause 4.2 below through a software based on parameters set by Lidl which produces a verifiably random result.


4.2. The Winners will be entitled to win one of the following prizes:

First Place Prize - a home/garden make-over to the value of £10,000 (1 prize to be won) subject to these Terms and Conditions.


Runner Up Prize - one coupon, subject to these Terms and Conditions, (of which there are 3,000, drawn in the following order of precedence):

I. 200 of £50 Lidl Plus coupon to spend on Parkside products;

II. 800 of £25 Lidl Plus coupon to spend on Parkside products;

III. 2,000 of £10 Lidl Plus coupon to spend on Parkside products


4.3. Lidl will appoint a Prize Provider to act as the First Place Prize Winner’s personal prize manager, who will offer impartial advice to provide a bespoke garden / home makeover prize bundle of the winner’s choice, including products, materials and/or labour, up to a maximum value of £10,000 (“Prize Value”).


4.4. The Winner may choose to spend their Prize Value on multiple elements or on one large prize, so long as the total prize value does not exceed £10,000.


4.5. The Winner may donate their prize to an organisation of their choice, subject to it being a registered charity and with Lidl’s prior written agreement.


4.6. The Winner may transfer the Prize to another individual of their choice, subject to Lidl’s prior written agreement.


4.7. The elements on which the Winner may choose to spend their Prize Value could include, but are not limited to, furniture, building and decorating materials, home electronics, in-built home appliances or kitchen/bathroom units, or the paid services of interior designers, painters, decorators and installers. Supplies should be purchased at Lidl where possible.


4.8. If the Winner elects to include any services or labour within their prize, the contract for such work will be between the service provider or tradesperson and the Winner directly. Should any disputes arise over proposed work, work being carried out, or completed work these are to be managed by the Winner & the service provider directly. Lidl will not be responsible nor liable for this.


4.9. The Prize Provider will pay any such invoices on the Winner’s behalf (so long as those works are included within the agreed £10,000 prize bundle) but will not contract directly with such service providers for those works. VAT and taxes on any labour must be included within the £10,000 prize fund.


4.10. If a Winner’s chosen prize(s) total is less than £10,000, the Winner agrees to forfeit the remaining Prize Value.


4.11. All prize elements must be booked through the Prize Provider.


4.12. Once a prize list has been agreed with the Winner, any additional personal expenses, and all other costs and arrangements not expressly included in that prize list, will be at the expense of the Winner.


4.13. No cash alternative will be offered.


4.14. Delivery is available to UK addresses only and all delivery costs must be included within the £10,000 prize fund.


4.15. Any additional costs for warranties and guarantees must be included within the £10,000 prize fund.


4.16. All Prizes are subject to availability. In the event that any of the Winner’s chosen products are unavailable, alternative products of equal value will be provided. Due to international supply chain issues, there may be delays to deliveries of physical prizes.


4.17. We will endeavour to get products delivered to Winners as quickly as possible. The Winner is responsible for ensuring that any delivery notes are checked on receipt.


4.18. Subject to 4.5 and 4.6 above, the Prize is as stated, are not transferable, cannot be resold and will only be awarded directly to the Winners.


4.19. Each Runner Up Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. Note that the Runner Up Prize is not available in a physical format, and cannot be printed and is subject to the redemption criteria below:


4.19.1. the Runner Up Prize is only redeemable in Lidl branches in Great Britain (which excludes Northern Ireland) by the Lidl Plus account holder who must be 18 years old or over;


4.19.2. the Runner Up Prize must be presented at the time of purchase at the till and can only be redeemed on a subsequent purchase (not on purchases already made);


4.19.3. the Runner Up Prize must be activated by clicking an activate button and redeemed during the specified validity period (as stipulated in these terms and/or on the Runner Up Prize);


4.19.4. the Runner Up Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable;


4.19.5. the Runner Up Prize is not for resale or publication;


4.19.6. screenshots, pictures or online printouts of the Runner Up Prize will not be accepted;


4.19.7. only original Runner Up Prizes within the Lidl app are valid;


4.19.8. the Runner Up Prize can only be used to purchase Parkside products which are listed under ‘Items Included’ on the Runner Up Prize coupon within the Lidl app.


4.19.9. the full Runner Up Prize amount must be used in a single transaction with Parkside products with a minimum value of £10, £25 or £50. No change will be given.



5. Prize Notification


5.1. If you win the First Place Prize, Lidl will notify you via a telephone call between 7 April 2025 and 2 May 2025. Lidl will contact you on the latest telephone number you have given for your Lidl Plus account on or before 2 April 2025. When we telephone call you, we will request your contact details (including residential address) in order to provide you with contact details for your personal Prize Provider. It will be Your responsibility to contact the Prize Provider directly to start the process of booking the £10,000 makeover.


5.2. Lidl will not be held liable where the Prize has been lost or stolen following delivery. All taxes, costs, liabilities and unspecified expenses associated with the usage of the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Lidl shall have no liability to the Winner for any direct, indirect or consequential loss in connection with the usage of the Prize.


5.3. If you win one of the 3,000 Runner Up Prizes, Lidl will notify you via email, using the email you have given on your Lidl Plus account, on or before 2 May 2025 and the Runner Up Prize will be added to the winner's Lidl Plus account on the same day. Your data will be shared back to Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74167 Neckarsulm, Germany to facilitate your win and enable you to spend your coupon.


5.4. The First Place Prize Winner will have 28 days to accept, reject or transfer the Prize by contacting the Prize Provider by the method they stipulate when contacted. If the First Place Prize Winner fails to acknowledge and accept/reject/or transfer the Prize to the Prize Manager within 28 days, the Prize will be forfeited and awarded to a substitute Winner (selected in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Participation) and thereafter until a Winner on these terms is found.


5.5. Reasonable efforts will be made to make contact with the First Place Prize Winner over a period of 10 working days. If it has not been possible to contact the Winner in that time, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to a substitute Winner (selected in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Participation) and thereafter until a Winner on these terms is found.


5.6. If you win one of the Runner Up Prizes, the £10, £25 or £50 Lidl Plus Parkside coupon this will be displayed shortly afterwards in the 'Coupons For You' section of the Lidl app. The Runner Up Prize will expire on 31 July 2025. The Runner Up Prize can only be redeemed against future purchases at Lidl branches in Great Britain and in compliance with the coupon terms and conditions available when you click on coupon in the Lidl app.



5.7. Subject to paragraphs 5.9 and 5.10 and without prejudice to Lidl's data protection obligations under relevant law, Lidl will make available the surname of the Winner, upon receipt of a written request to: data.protection@lidl.co.uk


5.8. Participants to the Prize Draw have the right, at or before the time of entry, to object to all or some of their personal information being made available in accordance with paragraph 5.8. You can object by contacting: data.protection@lidl.co.uk.


5.9. Notwithstanding paragraph 5.9 above, Lidl will provide the information set out in paragraph 5.8 upon request from the Advertising Standards Authority.



6. Liability


6.1. Subject to clause 5.3, If we fail to comply with these Terms we are responsible to you for loss or damage that you suffer which is a foreseeable consequence of us breaking these Terms, or any losses or damage you suffer as a result of our failing to use reasonable care and skill.


6.2. We do not accept any responsibility to you:


6.2.1. if you are unable to access the Lidl app or the Prize Draw due to there being no or limited WLAN connection available through your mobile device; or


6.2.2. for any losses or delays in transmission of messages, relating to any Prize, arising out of the use of any Internet access service provider or mobile network service provider or caused by any browser or other software which is not under our control.


6.3. We do not exclude or limit in any way liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for failing to use our reasonable care and skill in providing the Prize Draw or Prizes.


6.4. We are responsible for damage to your electronic property if the Prize Draw, or any Prize we have supplied, damages an electronic device or digital content belonging to you. We will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. However, we will not be liable for damage that could have been avoided by following our advice to apply an update to the Lidl app, for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation and download instructions or your unlawful use of the app.


6.5. Lidl accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.


6.6. If it is suspected that an entrant uses multiple e-mail addresses or accounts to submit more than one (1) entry, only one (1) entry will be considered. In the event of a dispute over who submitted a winning online entry, the “Authorized Account Holder” of the e-mail account used to participate in the draw at the actual time of entry, will be deemed to be the Authorized Account Holder is the natural person to whom the applicable Internet service provider, online service provider or other organization has assigned the email address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. In the event a winning account selected is a joint account, a total of one (1) prizes will be awarded in the name of the first-named account holder. Proof to Promoter’s satisfaction of being the authorized account subscriber may be required by Promoter in order to verify eligibility.



7. Cancellation


7.1. Lidl reserves the right to void, cancel, suspend, or amend this Prize Draw without prior notice for reasons beyond its control. Lidl may make this decision:


7.1.1. for technical reasons (e.g., viruses in the system, manipulation or hardware or software failures, etc.); and / or


7.1.2. for legal reasons, if the Prize Draw cannot be carried out in accordance with these Terms,

and we will let you know as soon as possible and take steps to minimise the impact.


7.2. If the cancellation is caused by unlawful and culpable conduct on the part of a Participant, Lidl has the right to claim compensation for any damage suffered.


8. Disqualification


8.1. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms by participating in this Prize Draw. Lidl reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the Prizes to anyone in breach of these Terms.


8.2. Lidl reserves the right to exclude Participants without prior notice and to prevent their participation.


8.3. All users who use prohibited means for participation (e.g. hacking tools, viruses, Trojans, etc.) will be excluded.


8.4. Participation in the Prize Draw by groups of players, automatic services, professional services or anybody who is not eligible under paragraph 2 above is not permitted.


9. General


9.1. The decision of Lidl regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.


9.2. Data charges may apply when using the Lidl Plus app.


9.3. The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and Participants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts except that if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.


10. Promoter


The Promoter of this Prize Draw is Lidl Great Britain Limited, Lidl House, 14 Kingston Road, Surbiton, England, KT5 9NU.


11. Data Protection


11.1. Details of the data controller:

Lidl Great Britain Limited is the controller for the processing of the personal data of each Participant. Lidl Great Britain Limited has appointed a data protection officer who is available at: data.protection@lidl.co.uk.


11.2. Categories and origin of the data:

In order to operate the Prize Draw, the following personal data will be disclosed to Lidl Great Britain Limited by Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74167 Neckarsulm, Germany:

11.2.1. customer ID of each Participant in the Prize Draw;

11.2.2. the first name and surname as well as the e-mail address and telephone number of each Winner.

Furthermore, Lidl Great Britain Limited may collect any other personal data required to send or hand over the Prize directly to each Winner.


11.3. Purposes and legal bases of processing:

Lidl Great Britain Limited will use the personal data collected to operate the Prize Draw (e.g. drawing winners, notifying winners, sending the prize). This processing takes place because you have given Lidl Great Britain Limited your consent (Art 6.1.a GDPR). Photographs or videos of the Winner could be taken during the Prize giving; these may be published together with the name and hometown of any Winner in promotional media of Lidl Great Britain Limited (e.g., press release, lidl.co.uk, employee magazine, Facebook). The processing of this data is based on our legitimate interest so Lidl Great Britain Limited can promote itself and its prize draws (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). In addition, there is a public interest (in particular on the part of the other participants) to see that a prize draw is taking place and prizes are being won. You have the right to object to your personal information being published or made available, or request to reduce the amount of information published or made available. You can exercise these rights by emailing: data.protection@lidl.co.uk. In such circumstances, Lidl Great Britain Ltd must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Agency if challenged.


11.4. Recipients/categories of recipient:

Data is only transferred to third parties where this is necessary for the implementation of the Prize Draw (e.g. sending the Prizes via a logistics company) or in order to publish any Winner (e.g. on Facebook). Apart from that, we do not transfer the data to third parties.


11.5. Storage time/criteria for determining storage time:

At the end of the Prize Draw and announcement of each Winner, the personal data of each Participant will be deleted.


11.6. Rights of data subjects:

Participants have the right to obtain information, free of charge, about the personal data stored about them. In addition, a Participant has the right to request the deletion or restriction of processing of its personal data as well as the right to receive a copy of the data in a structured format. A Participant has the right at any time to object to data processing that is necessary in order to protect legitimate interests of Lidl Great Britain Limited or a third party. Where a Participant has provided its consent, it is entitled to withdraw consent at any time.


11.7. You have the right to make a complaint with the Supervisory Authority in the United Kingdom which is the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). A complaint can be lodged with ICO on its website at: www.ico.org.uk or by contacting their helpline on 0303 123 1113.
